Balancing acts

Change with work such as restructures that have affected my ability to commit to study for a year or semester, juggling my young family commitments with children; aging parents, finances and whether employers support studies.

Pacific peoples in university face significant challenges as they juggle multiple responsibilities, including academic commitments, financial pressures, and cultural obligations. They often support their families financially, participate in community and church activities, and work part-time jobs, which impacts their study time and academic performance. These added responsibilities contribute to higher levels of stress. Additionally, Pacific graduates often face higher levels of financial strain and debt, compounded by their roles in supporting family and community, which impacts their academic and professional progress.
